What Once Was Blue

A Poem from a Father's Love

By Marc QuarantaPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Goodness. I can’t explain how much you mean to me.

Time won’t stop. You just keep growing into what you’ll be.

Sometimes, I know, I must be harsh and sometimes, I know, you may think that I don’t care.

But I will always act with love and kindness, treat you equally and fair.

Time won’t stop. It’s racing by each day with us on board this wild ride.

No matter who you become or where you go, you are the source of all my pride.

Everything that was once mine, everything was blue.

There's so much that has changed within me. That's all because of you.

What once was blue, is now filled with Pink. The color of your heart.

It's filled me full. Released me free. A beginning. A start.

Always stand up and be proud even though there’s fear you’ll always feel.

Your goals and aspirations, your dreams can all be very real.

I wrote this poem, just this morning, just because.

Because I saw this picture and thought of you - From a father’s love.
