What Is 'Suitable'?

Someone once asked me, "What is 'suitable'?"

I paused for a moment, thinking about the friends I’ve grown close to.

I realized that one of the things I enjoy most in my daily life is simply being with them. Even when we're not doing anything, we never feel bored. Even the silence becomes a joy. When we don't feel the need to rush and fill the gaps with conversation, it's the most ordinary yet cherished time of my life. No matter how far apart we are or how long it's been since we've talked, the thought of the things we've done together still makes the corners of my mouth turn up. Having someone in your life who can make you smile even when they're not around is a blessing.

Our sense of self is a constant dialogue with the past. People go through countless cycles of shifting roles. You are who you are not just because of your experiences, but also because of how you interpret them. The person who once made you smile gave you a glimpse of a certain possibility. And that possibility is what keeps you from completely despairing of the world late at night. Sometimes, it's those subtle yet inconspicuous moments that allow you to remain gentle and resilient in your daily life.

Is there someone whose memory still brings an unconscious smile to your face?
