What is Color?

Asking the question again...

By Ingrid AnaWa'yah LeePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

What is Color?

It beautifies, exemplifies,

and Categorizes by Tone.

Existing by Hue, yet this is how you're Known.

To some it may Dismiss, not exist, and fade into the night.

The battle becomes real, our mind must always fight.

Emotional, Spiritual, mental, which war is within me?

Color yet so wonderful, a tinge to find what’s free.

Searching, purging, owning, believing in my shade.

Questioning, wondering, trusting why Color was even made.

Created for beauty, yet tarnished by the unknown.

As the hour-glass continues measuring, no progress ever shown.

Judging, stereotyping, when you look what will you see?

Do you just see color, or, are you looking at me?

Your Perception, my Perfection, a goal hard to obtain.

Trying, Trusting, Believing, knowing the color must remain.

Will you Trade your place in line, imagine that it’s you.

Talking, how insulting, walking a minute in their shoes.

Are you willing to fight, walk and trust without sight, do what’s right?

Color is an illusion, your perception, my direction, and yet my skin tone is WHITE.

So what is color?
