What Is A Poem?

Where does it come from to the mind ?

What Is A Poem

A poem is a dance of words,

A melody the heart has heard,

A whisper from the soul’s deep core,

A rhythm that forever soars.

It comes from moments, still or wild,

From dreams of an innocent child,

From tears that fall, or laughter loud,

Thought's that break through every cloud.

It comes from pain, it comes from joy,

From every girl, from every boy,

From nature’s voice, the sea, the sky,

From questions that we can’t deny.

A poem is a bridge, a way

To speak the truths we cannot say,

A light that shines when all is dark,

A spark that leaves a lasting mark.

This poem beautifully captures the essence of what poetry truly is—a bridge between emotions, a voice for the unsaid, and a spark that lingers in the soul.

I have always wondered what defines a poem. Having read your poem I think I have a much better idea
