What if everything you thought
you were supposed to be, was not you?
What if you were different
but did not want to believe it?
What if you are gay and
always knew it but
fought it for so long?
What if you lose friends
and family over who you are?
Will it be sad if that happens?
Yes, it will be.
Will you be happier
for, being you?
A hundred percent yes.
It may take awhile
but you will be happy.
Be true to who you are
and don't let anyone make
you feel bad for who you are.

Pearl
1980 something. we all hung out at Pearl and you and i were nothing special, or so i thought. i mean we all danced, drenched in our own sweat, our own saline solution of fear, too many beers, shots, laughter, tears, fucks in the bathroom and i don't know when we began to be afraid. do you?
