What if the sky was blue
And if the grass was green
Could we better lift our hearts
Beyond moon and stars
To places unseen
What if sunflowers were yellow
Or even the brightest gold
Could we sing ‘til our hearts felt mellow
Until we just grew old
What if the grass was green
What if the sky was blue
Could I keep you safe in my heart
Forever me and you.
What if blood was red
And we could bleed to death
Would we leave things unsaid
Unloved beyond last breath.
What if life was a rainbow
A broken ray of light
Heaven sent to show us
That everything’s alright…
