What I've Imagined

Somewhere Between Here and There Challenge

What I've Imagined

That quick split of time is all that I need

I've been a princess, a pirate, even an old maid.

I'm quick, but mighty in that in between time,

I've fought a dragon, a demon, and even a mime.

It seems so silly to imagine yourself in these states,

But I often find I cannot control these wild fates.

I awaken at five fifty-five, for some unknown reason,

My alarm blares at six AM no matter the season.

So I lull myself to sleep for five minutes more.

Enough time to dream, maybe not to snore.

It's a quickly falling daze as I try to remember,

Part of that dream I had last November.

That quick split of time is all that I need

To let my imagination grow and feed.

I'm quick, but mighty in that in between time,

When I'm on the edge of sleep until that first chime.
