What Happened to Our Love?

Once so pure and true, now nothing.

I still remember that fateful day we met,

I loved you then and still love you now; forever.

We pledged love and life to always be together.

Our love was bold, beautiful and no regret.

💗💗💗💗

Our love grew strong, two hearts never to forget,

Try as they might, none could break our love, ever.

No doubt, no second guess, none whatsoever,

We set our course, our love would last forever.

💗💗💗💗

Something went wrong, our love was no longer strong,

No trust anymore, we doubted each other.

Your silence cut, and then you took a lover,

I longed to know what it was I had done wrong.

💔💔💔💔

Here I sit, not ever really knowing,

My heart now broken, my tears still keep flowing.

💔💔💔💔

[Author's note: A Petrarchan/Italian sonnet typified by 14 lines. The first octet has an ABBAABBA and the sestet CDCDEE. Each of the lines is hendecasyllabic ()11 syllables).]

Till next time
