What God cannot conquer

Even though my heart agrees, my body

Resists the bow that presses on

The fire of God burns itself in vain

And this Troy never fell

Stubborn gods! Your growing threat

Makes me grow old fast and laugh at those

Children who know nothing, but cannot

Make me accept that unrighteous covenant

Do not tempt me with immortal youth

Cruel God, even if you take from my kiss

Take away the lips of the beloved and let him die

But you cannot take away from my heart the shadow

O God of all machinations, you let me die

Even if you break the covenant so that generations of people

To mock the cowardice of God and let me live

That is, to put failure on the ledger of time
