if i am not my scars,

then what am i ?

i am not a poet

or a writer

or a painter.

i am not a saint

or a sinner.

i am not the person

i want to be.

i am words on a page.

i am a weight on a scale.

i am a face in the mirror.

i am the scars on my skin

that were caused by

my own hand,

while living a life

i dont want to live.
