this isn't a competition

or a cheap petty one up club

we’re not measuring our dicks

seeing who's got the biggest chub

we are not going for distance

we are not going for speed

in the gaps between our words

all of us have a need

it's not about best or better

not even first second or third

or who can supply and be able to apply

the right amount of polish on the turd

who can get that lasting shine

once the all matte and sheen is buffed away

who can perform beyond the norm

and not fluffed in anyway

so who brings me tomorrow today

because a second ago will always be gone

because that yesterday is just a pest away

a simple slice of soft solace withdrawn

autonomous and anonymous

agenda less would be the best

silent situational collaborationism

everything and anything is and will be a test

a test of us, of you, of time

everything that will ever be

and even if you close your eyes

everything will be yours to see
