Weed Amongst Roses

Worthwhile

By Amber R BrushPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Not far from a bright bed of roses a dandilion once grew.

The roses snickered in disgust as they watched the lonely weed bloom.

"You have no place amongst us, we hope you get plucked soon."

The roses would say to the young weed growing in solitude.

The dandilion never felt alone though the weed grew on it's own.

The roses outshined the dandilion but the weed soaked more sun.

"I may not be as pleasing as all of you to see,

but am I not just as needed to the hard working bee?"

"The bee needs pollen and mine can wither the wild.

Even in concrete can I break through with smile."

"I can be were I am needed and there are times when I'm not wanted.

But that does not mean that I am not just as important."

The roses had nothing more to say so kept to their garden.

It was then that a bee came and softly embraced the single dandilion.

The single weed always knew their true value.

When you feel alone, know that you are worthwhile
