Weathering The Beautiful Months

As Submitted To The Sound Of The First Frost Challenge

By Marc OBrienPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

Filled with sunlight

Fresh and bright

Emotions love, very tight

Glowing into the night

Until summer departs

Cooling trend starts

When

Illumination ends

Autumn falls back

Surrendering an hour, during one weekend attack

Leaves dying in the air

Hitting ground, never scared

Only to be raked, bagged,

And tagged

By hefty boy

Sensing crisp joy

Lawn now clean,

Seeing green

Under his feet

Garden grass, glistening and neat

Due to spending weekend afternoon

Were soon

Early it gets dark

Hearing herald angels sing, 'hark’

Welcoming wintry cold

Francs and gold

Celebrating holiday concept getting sold

Making snowbound scenes

Interpreted as romantic loving dream

Slip and slide

Goes the carriage ride

Hoofing to a caroling beat

Enjoying marking a year complete

Counting days before heat

Returns

And burns

Those sleeping on the sand

Not wrapped in swaddling clothes

Letting go

Nature’s lovely tricks

Open carefully they can be wonderful gifts
