Beneath the weight of burdens not my own,
I stagger, feeling crushed by unseen chains.
A heavy load upon my weary shoulders,
A weight that does not rightfully belong.
The expectations placed upon my back,
Like boulders carried in a world unkind.
Responsibilities not mine to shoulder,
Yet they persist, relentless and unbound.
Society's demands, a weighty cloak,
I wear it willingly, but at what cost?
The heaviness of others' misplaced hopes,
An unyielding weight, difficult to bear.
I strive to please, to meet their lofty standards,
To carry their desires as if my own.
But deep within, my soul cries out for release,
Yearning for the freedom to stand unburdened.
For in this struggle, I slowly come to see,
That the weight I bear is not mine to keep.
It is a choice, though not an easy one,
To shed the load and reclaim my own worth.
So I shed the weight, one burden at a time,
And rediscover the strength within my core.
No longer bound by others' expectations,
I stand tall, liberated and unencumbered.
For it is not my duty to carry the weight,
Of dreams and desires that are not my own.
I release the chains, reclaim my sovereignty,
And embrace the lightness of being truly free.
