Weakness Is Strength

Vulnerability isn't always a bad thing. It helps us learn empathy and how to become stronger, braver.

By Anna MillerPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I've faced bloodthirsty demons.

The ones raging in my mind,

One born of weakness and insecurity.

I've stood against countless monsters,

Twice my size and vicious.

And won.

I've loved,

And I've lost.

But somehow still continue to keep going.

With the snap of fingers,

I've torn apart reality

And made self-destructive sacrifices

For the people I loved.

I've shattered the world

And sliced my hands,

Picking up the pieces,

In order to build a new one from scratch,

For the betterment of complete strangers.

I've given up my valuable resources

And my precious time,

If only to let another gain a few more moments.

I've walked into impossible battles

And have come out the sole survivor.

I've lived through a dark past

And have done things

That would make anyone else give up,

Or fracture.

I did it in a heartbeat

And I would do it again.

So don't you dare call me weak.

You know nothing of my horrible obstacles

Or bloody, hard won victories.

You don't know what I've given up

Or how many times I came close

To calling it quits.

I am still here.

And because of that decision,

I am powerful.
