We Were Magic

A poem

By Jason GiecekPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

We stood in the doorway,

Our life was alright,

Is everybody in?

The ceremony is about to begin.

Let me tell you about the lost of love,

Out here,

We get stoned,

To kill the pain,

So we do not feel,

A killer awoke before dawn,

He did not know,

You gotta love your man,

We are going out west,

To feel,

To run,

To see,

To hear that voice,

That magical voice,

To run,

To feel the wind in our face,

We were Gods among the men,

To hear the voice,

Sweetly in our heads,

To magically dance in the world,

To not cuss against the world!

We were magic!
