We Were a Fire That Forgot to Burn Out
We were a match lit in the middle of a storm,
flickering, defiant—too wild to be warned.
You were heat in my veins,
I was smoke in your chest,
both of us burning, neither at rest.
We danced in embers,
kissed in ash,
loved like time was made to crash.
They called us chaos,
but we called it home,
two sparks in a world that felt too alone.
We weren’t made to last,
but we didn’t know how to end.
Even in silence,
the flames would bend.
Not consumed—
just caught in the glow,
a fire too stubborn to ever let go.
