We The People:
(We the people...)
Walk fast and talk loud,
Listen quietly and stand proud,
Drippin’ in decisions and flossin’ in the background. Well, on the stage of life.
(We the people...)
Distracted by ego and misguided with disrespect,
Built for battle and misunderstandings of tolerance,
Unwilling to be at peace and ready for war at home. Well, on your streets.
(We the people...)
ARE Set free when we decree no longer will this be normal.
(We the people...)
Don’t want revenge, but want a change to finally come and stick.
(We the people...)
Are fond of names, but less fond of people.
(We the people...)
Want to dictate exactly which black lives matter. Trans and gays alike, get killed and not talked about.
The fear you feel as a person of color, are 10 degrees less hot to those also queer.
Divided and slaughtered.
Here for the people,
Education all around, yes you! Come here!
(We the PEOPLE...)
Take a seat for this lesson, each of us are here to be a blessing.
Someone’s mother, daughter, sister father, son and OTHER....
No life is more valuable than another’s.
WE THE PEOPLE... Exist.
Not to parade because we want everyone to see us or be us.
We march to free us, the fear we live with we come together and make it beautiful. Claiming that if today is the day I die, We die together.
For LOVE.
As the people, it is our job to place value on the important things. It should NOT be debatable whether or not LIFE matters.
