though the rain forgets to pour
the stars we wish upon find forest floor
we smile still
-
though the memories of loved ones fade
the photographs of time remain
we smile still
-
though the thunder roars
in sync with men who cry for war
we smile still
-
though the gloom hangs over
like fog on an autumn road
we smile still
-
though hope is thin
we pray love will win
and we smile still
------------------------------AUTHOR'S NOTE-------------------------------------
I know that times are so hard for so many right now - mentally, emotionally, financially. This poem is for you. It's an encouragement to seek the joy and to find moments to smile. They say that laughter is the best medicine, and well, I think smiling is a pretty amazing remedy as well. You never know the difference a single simple smile will make to you, to your family, or to a complete stranger. I hope this poem and this note of love and hope as been a little smile for you.

This poem is such a beautiful testimony of resilience and the enduring nature of hope through life's inevitability of troubles and afflictions. This repetition of "we smile still" as an emphatic, approaching-sarcasm declaration of defiance against hard times effectively draws attention to the human capacity to find light amidst darkness. This is a message that reminds us that even in the midst of sorrow, fear, and despair, there remains a possibility to choose happiness. 🌞
Thank you ❤️ I need this reminder, thank you for making me smile today. 🥰
