Thirty first day in May, whilst flowers bloom,

*

in the year of nine-teen seventy one.

*

Giving honor to those who fought in troop,

*

a day to show we shan’t forget, begun.

👩🏼‍✈️

With pride now take this time, to thank you,

*

for with fear did go, family left behind.

*

We met, not once, bravery shown through

*

gave all you had, each other now remind.

👨‍✈️

A poppy grows for fallen, for me paid.

*

when sacrifice and bravery you gave

*

A gift of freedom is what does remain

*

today, for you we all will celebrate.

🇺🇸

My country tis of thee, we still sing,

proud, we will make you, let freedom ring.
