They say there's a fire inside us all,
And pondering this may be our flaw.
But wouldn't we feel the warmth?
Why does it feel so mundane, so
Out of place?
One might even describe it as, cold.
We light up the world, they say,
But very little has this been explained.
However...
There may be some science behind this saying.
You see, the center of the flame is actually the coldest.
The wick burns as its fuel - one's values -
Oxygen ceases to exist right outside the coldest region - individualized & maybe ostracized -
And then boom... combustion - the intersection of individual & world -
Suddenly, what we know the flame to be,
The section that burns tall & bright - the world's perception of the individual -
Emitting heat & light - how one presents in those closest & the world around -
So many flames orbiting each other,
In seemingly chaotic, but beautiful patterns.
Sometimes spilling over or combining
Sometimes going out and/or staring anew
All light possible, as long as any singular one stays ignited
