To feel complete

In your arms' embrace

Is home.

To search for meaning

Inside our space

Is home.

To feel all feelings

No matter the time of day,

Is home.

*

You are what makes my heart warm up with joy

You are the tingle in my happy fancy playboy.

All sorts of whispers, all unthinkable hopes,

Are ours to discover,

To pretend they're more than brush strokes

For a work called life, a structure to uncover.

You are all I need to live our freedom rhythm,

Together we form a geodesic dome

A miraculous complex construction called home.

Thank you for the prompt, Kay Husnick! Read her article here.

Prompt: What does it mean to feel at home? Write a poem describing that feeling. Consider when you last truly felt at home. Do you feel at home where you live now? When was the first time you were able to put that feeling into words?
