We Are Stars Hiding in Flesh
Remembering the Light We Were Before We Learned to Dim

We are stars hiding in flesh,
Borrowing bones and names,
Learning how to walk
Under the weight of gravity and expectation.
Inside us burns an ancient fire,
Older than language,
Older than fear—
A light that once traveled
Across endless dark
Just to arrive here,
Inside a fragile heartbeat.
They taught us to shrink,
To lower our gaze,
To believe we are only what we touch—
Skin, scars, reflections in cracked mirrors.
But even buried beneath routine and doubt,
The cosmos remembers itself.
Every ache is a reminder,
Every longing a signal sent outward:
I was made for more than survival.
I was made to shine,
Even if softly,
Even if unseen.
We glow quietly—
In kindness no one applauds,
In dreams we’re afraid to say out loud,
In resilience that keeps breathing
When the night feels endless.
We forget sometimes,
But stars do not stop burning
Just because clouds pass.
They wait.
They endure.
And so do we.
We are not lost.
We are not small.
We are galaxies learning how to be human,
Stars hiding in flesh,
Waiting for the courage
To remember our light.
