We are God

Poem inspired by bigotry

By Salomé SaffiriPublished about a month ago Updated 3 days ago 1 min read

God hates fags-

She prefers cigars.

Stroking her gorgeous beard

God wears drag

And hangs out at the bars

Drinking spritzers and beer

God rides a Harley

And walks in heels

Every step is a thunder!

God is BEAUTIFUL

God is QUEER

God is WONDER

Author's note:

This morning I came across a picture of a Brit holding the sign with the infamous slogan. A commenter under the picture suggested to turn around the meaning by adding another sign that said: "God likes cigars"; And that gave birth to my poem.

About the Creator

Salomé Saffiri

Writing - is my purpose. I feel elated when my thoughts assume shapes, and turn into Timberwolves, running through the snowbound planes of fresh paper, leaving the black ink of their paw prints behind.
