We all burn away

Poem for the end of days

Top Story - July 2023

What will we roam

once this is all gone?

(Near gone as it is

now.)

What is our home?

And who will we tell,

at the end of all life,

as the road runs like glue,

that our love was a bell?

Deep cast, with a low,

loud hum,

to pass the ash fog,

and grey lung,

to warm us like the sun;

Made to last long,

past a mute year of cold

snow and dull pain

with its slow, fast song.

We will roam some not seen line

hand in hand, my soul, and,

led by the song of our love,

find our end in time.

Hi Conor - I'm so glad I've discovered your unique and creative way of storytelling. But, this one caught my eye among your so many eclectic topics. Conor, I'm just a retired legal writer morphed into a 'Goof-Writer' nothing more. I don't do contests/rewards but I enjoy reading 'Shorts' from all over the world on this marvelous platform. I see you haven't posted much of late. *I've subscribed to you with pleasure hoping to see more of your work.
