War

A dark poem during a shadow period

By Lady PsyrenPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

I’m sorry, my love

For the battle that resides inside of me is coming to an end

- and the outside is losing

The torture

Oh, the torture that took place

The arguing back and forth

The yelling…

The disagreements

The emotional damage

The abuse

And then…the silence

- sitting in loneliness

- in a deep dark corner

Shhh! They’re here….

- they crept in

- They talked to the shell

And lower the shell sunk

Being dragged down

Being distracted by them

Is why I am losing

Which is why, I must say goodbye

I am no more

The inside won this war

Wow, this piece really packs an emotional punch! The contrast between the silence and the inner chaos hits hard. The way you capture that feeling of being dragged down is intense. Definitely a deep, powerful read!
