War and diaspora

If I write my lines

By Kisama Riyo Published about a year ago 1 min read

In letters that lost their hamzas

And a lonely heart thrown in the dark

And a soul crying over memories

My life is full of misfortunes

And a bird that does not master songs

Oh, my bitterness

Unities brought us together

And words separated us after a while

I knew that if I wrote my lines

Whispers would abandon me

And touches would move away from me

And I stripped my chest of setbacks

So what inspired me today is dispersion

And between a life isolated by breezes

I became in a state of hibernation

Crying from my long wait

Over faded letters

And pens that dried up and turned pale

And life led me again

To climb like a bruised ladder

This is what made me dead today
