Wandering Fog

4.3.23

By Katrina ThornleyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Noises cascade

Assaulting the senses

Merging into one

Until eyes close

And world falls silent,

A step away from reality

Into a timeless soundless place

Where humans don’t walk

And trees grow tall

Limbs connecting

Gripping one another

A ceiling above

Formed by branches and leaves

Small cracks

Allowing the light of day

Awaiting the shining stars

That will illuminate another path

Another world-

Fog swirls beneath knees

A river walked through

Shins grazing flowering blooms

And wild ferns

Unseen beneath the fog of confusion

A mind wandering

Looking for a safe place

To tuck in and hide

From the needs of the world

The questions of society

The plan designed by others

For quiet souls to follow

Without question-

Until they close their eyes

And remember the master plan

Created when infant

When imagination soured

And answers came easily,

When mind separated the noise

Into digestible chunks

Instead of swallowing all whole

And hoping to create something

Worth caring about.

A moment for the soul in the midst of busy days, countless demands & expectations from others. Very nice.
