I’m walking
the winds hug me
instead of all the people that should have
the leaves dance around me
as if confetti in my face
the dark night sends stars
winking like friends sharing a secret
the moon sits and stares
like a bystander watching the fun
my hair waves and claps
against the rhythm of my walk
my heart thumps and thunders
to the rush of my thoughts
I’m walking
all I know and have is gone
now all there is hugs and stars
and everything I truly want
