Voodoo Doll Defiance Poem
In the shadows of oppression, where freedom's light fades.
A voodoo doll of control, manipulates our shades.
Ignorance and fear, the puppeteer's twisted game.
Stealing rights, silencing voices, and hiding the truth in flames.
Toxic relationships, a web of pain and might.
Forced conformity, erasing identities in sight.
Reproductive rights, stripped away like autumn leaves.
Leaving bodies controlled, and souls that grieve.
DEI, a fading light, in a land of broken dreams.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, just a distant theme.
Greedy hands, lining pockets with gold.
While the vulnerable suffer, and the future grows old.
Climate chaos, a reckless abandon, a destructive beat.
Drilling in the Arctic, a toxic legacy to repeat.
Silencing dissent, with an iron fist and might.
Leaving us vulnerable, in the dark of night.
But still we rise, a resistance born.
Fighting for justice, for equality sworn.
We'll break the chains, and shatter the spell.
Our voices loud, our hearts united, we'll rise and tell.
Title: Voodoo Doll: Defiance Poem
Verse 1:
They want to keep you ignorant, unaware of your rights.
No education, no critical thinking, just blind obedience in sight.
Stealing taxpayer dollars to fund their crusade.
Forcing religion down your throat, a dangerous charade.
They're pushing their Project 2025 agenda, a narrow-minded view.
Forcing minds of all ages to conform, no room for diversity or truth .
Hook:
You're my voodoo doll, under my control.
I'll manipulate your mind, body, and soul.
I'll pull the strings, you'll dance to my beat.
Forever trapped, in this web of deceit.
I'm your master, you're my pawn.
Know your place, take this discipline.
You and your kingdom heirs, under my spell.
I am misery, and I crave your hell.
Verse 2:
Trapping you in toxic relationships, no escape in sight.
Controlling your personal life, day and night.
Jane can't leave her violent relationship, no help in her fight.
John's forced into fatherhood, against his human right.
Dictating what you do with your body, no choice, no say.
Forcing you to risk your life, every single day.
Erasing your identity, silencing your voice.
Leaving you powerless, a mere joyful noise.
Verse 3:
Controlling your body, controlling your fate.
No access to contraceptives, a deliberate wait.
Forcing unwanted pregnancies, a lifetime of strife.
Erasing reproductive rights, a constant, nagging life.
Suppressing the truth, hiding the past.
Erasing Black history, and gender identity at last.
Bridge:
No room for diverse voices, no space to breathe.
Forcing conformity, a dangerous, narrow creed.
DEI means opportunity, a chance to rise.
Without it, we fall, truth replaced by lies.
Lining the pockets of the rich, a greedy, cruel game.
Tax cuts for the 1%, while the rest bear the shame.
Widening the gap, between the haves and have-nots.
A system of oppression, where the poor are caught.
Choir:
DEI, we're losing our way.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, fading away.
Makes America what we are, a land of the free.
But only for the few, not you and me.
(Repeating the DEI acronym, emphasizing its importance)
Male Rap:
Controlling your body, controlling your fate.
No access to contraceptives, a deliberate wait.
Forcing unwanted pregnancies, a lifetime of strife.
Erasing reproductive rights, a constant, nagging life.
Suppressing the truth, hiding the past.
Erasing Black history, and gender identity at last.
Female Rap:
Dismantling protections, for the vulnerable and weak.
Eliminating safeguards, for the ones they seek to sneak.
No more no-fault divorce, trapped in toxic bonds.
Forced to suffer in silence, with no escape beyond.
Choir:
DEI, we're losing our way.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, fading away.
Makes America what we are, a land of the free.
But only for the few, not you and me.
(Repeating the DEI acronym, emphasizing its importance)
Verse 4 (Male Rap):
Breaking the unions, silencing the voice.
Leaving workers powerless, a hopeless choice.
No climate protections, a reckless abandon.
Drilling in the Arctic, a destructive pattern.
Dismantling protections, leaving us exposed.
Using military force, to silence our voice.
Crushing dissent, with an iron fist.
Leaving us vulnerable, to the oppressor's twist.
Choir:
Oil rigs pumping poison, into our air and sea.
A toxic legacy, climate chaos.
Catastrophic fate.
Leaving our future in a desperate state.
Verse 4 (Female Rap):
Deregulating greed, a recipe for disaster.
Raising the retirement age, a never-ending master.
Cutting social security, a safety net undone.
Leaving the elderly and disabled, to face the unknown.
Dismantling our defense, leaving us exposed.
Using military force, to silence our voice.
Crushing dissent, with an iron fist.
Leaving us vulnerable, to the oppressor's twist.
Choir:
DEI, we're losing our way.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, fading away.
Makes America what we are, a land of the free.
But only for the few, not you and me.
(Repeating the DEI acronym, emphasizing its importance)
Hook:
You're my voodoo doll, under my control.
I'll manipulate your mind, body, and soul.
I'll pull the strings, you'll dance to my beat.
Forever trapped, in this web of deceit.
I'm your master, you're my pawn.
Know your place, take this discipline.
You and you're once Kingdom heirs, under my spell.
I am misery, and I crave your hell.
Choir:
We'll refuse to be caught in a system of oppression and pain.
But we won't be silenced, we'll rise again.
Fighting for justice, equality, and rights.
We'll keep on resisting, with all our might.
