One day, I'll wake up to you again.

They said I chose you before I knew myself

because the ego lies to all of us

and it's better to trust

the presence of being

They were speaking in tongues

in two, to be exact

not a good job of either

but that's all we got

They said I had the skin of the moon

to remember that all there is

is what I can feel inside me

and what I recognize in you.

They promised an eternal summer

for us to play in

the sea, the sand, and the stars

well hidden in fireflies

They ripped off my chains

to never forget

that we can be free anytime

we're brave enough to fight

They said I could come back to you

if I belonged to myself

and dared not waiver

to do what we must

I'll come back to you,

and I'll leave in ashes.

About the Creator

Nah.

I swear I’m human. In fact, I’m extraordinary.
