1991

Dissolution, collapse

The children run away

From home

From Mother

Did they outgrow

The archipelago

Of gulags and fear?

Did the blood

Unnerve?

Now finding the way

To happily ever 'aftering's

Smiles, release

Comrade no more

Citizen, thou art free.

----------------------------------------------

Then 2000

The naked gnome rides back from hell

And death's fierce grip

Scorches souls that dare

Pronounce the names

Of those who would hide.

Mortality pours across the land

Holding spirits hostage

Now ever chained to history

Held by broken bones

It brings them to the unthinkable

They scream anew.

------------------------------------------

He stills the sound.

He pulls the strings

His venom stings

As Das vedanya hangs limply.

They outgrew the

You think you can outback the grasp

Second verse , same as the first

Death and rotting flesh pour across the land

He stills the soun

He pulls the

And his venom stings

tIn truth I could not understand the poem but it had a very eery effect. The unfinished phrases were very effective- what is not said is as powerful as what is said.. the message of capricious terror comes through

Freedom is always the desire of the soul of every rational being. The society, as it is structured, undermines every human joy and independence. Slaves of the system, if we struggle with wishes, we take a breath. And then death, the inevitability of human mortality. But for the free in spirit, death is not death. You have opened my heart... Very inspiring poem!
