Voices (Good)

Why should we never forget who we are? Where we’ve been and where we came from? Perhaps to find ourselves and our way when we are lost. Maybe as a reminder when the world around us is challenging or even overwhelming. A reason not to give up? Maybe, it’s all of the above.

Look at where you are

Do you remember where you came from?

And how far?

Where you were last year?

And the year before?

It's been a long time coming

But not at all was it all for nothing

I don't know how many times you've been told that better days are coming

And they might not come tomorrow but believe me when I say that you're on to something

To think that everything is all or nothing denies the value in growth from the little things

In the times life wages war against us-

It's the small victories that make the biggest differences

But a war isn't won without losing some battles

Sometimes the price of life includes sacrifice

But remember, that wisdom is the return on investment of experience

Something to be earned

Built up over time, that's how we live and learn

Some bridges are bound to fall, some crumble and some burn

But something like time is a type of wealth given out with the cards we're dealt

And something like patience is a virtue

Not acquired in an instant- But requires something like persistence

When nothing seems to makes sense- And everyone wants to put in their two cents

Remember that there's good and bad company-

Both good and bad influence

Not all voices should be listened to

Your mind can be a weapon of destruction or that for peace-And yes, there is an in between

So what will it be?

If your thoughts decide your direction, what will you pursue?

What will you do for you?

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
