“Virginity”

Losing it isn’t always what it seems.

By Charleen RicheyPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Love! Fetching thine heart for thee

Sinful thoughts upon display

Descent into a grave with plea

Young emotions meet disarray

Upon that eve a child was lost

A moth had taken form

No butterfly, was the cost

A meager soul forlorn

Vessels chose to break the bond

Severing chains that touch the sky,

Lilith now to abscond

Opening petals for the lie

Somehow under the same bright sun

Eyes fluttering like the rest

Early flight had just begun

But Spring remained unblessed

Wings that once would have taken flight

Curled and so cold

In sorrow, found their own delight

Tarnished from the fold

Upon the ground we did stand

Alone and looking in

While flutter-bye’s in demand

Accounted for our sin

The yearning for a peaceful place

To let my spirit free

Two bodies then upon display

While angels disagree

Petals of grace fell one by one

Floating, without sound

The deed could not be undone

And furies did resound

Upon thy breast, you did lay

A new world had begun

Webbing delight, having its way

Stories had been spun

The next morn, a slight of smile

The saints, thy heart did cheat,

Eve had been your friendly wile

Leaving only defeat

But new days dawn, and breathe so sweet

A despondent hope to rise

Forgiveness from Thine honey-sweet

No more within disguise

Feeling winds upon wings anew

Uncurled they can fly!

Ceasing rage, abandon the shrew

No more, to skies deny.
