Virgin page

Waiting for a Palette

By Patty Desjarlais Published 5 years ago 1 min read
Waiting for a palette

I entered into life a blank virgin page

Void of color, script, rhyme or reasons

Waiting to grab the palette of living to design the stage

Bring on the colors, the dreams, the bright and the bold

Growing richer with occasions, dates and seasons

I entered into life a blank virgin page

May it be pale, pastel, bright or brazen,

Perhaps a kaleidoscope of amber and gold

Waiting to grab the palette of living to design the stage

Smeared by tears, disappointment, love and age

My canvas cannot be traded, nor sold

I entered into life a blank virgin page

To Go forth to the light to embrace the life before it be old

Go forth on the page without regret or grievance

Waiting to grab the palette of living to design the stage

Color your world, reach out, be free, exit the cage

Live your life, be you, reach great heights, ignore what is told

I entered into life a blank virgin page

Waiting to grab the palette of living to design the stage
