Violet

(A colour poem about me)

By Brooke WebbPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Picasso portraits before prettied with purple.

When violet leans to blue, I seldom think of you. When violet leans to fuchsia, I wish we were a little closer.

How the memories of colours linger like lavender - colour, fragrance, flower - a triad of delight, a triple treat, dried out, growing, now even flavouring coffee; or amethyst, a family favourite adorning fingers for as long as I remember.

Favourites, are they seasonal, fashionable, gendered, conscious or unconscious?

I’m unsure, undecided and I attempt to be undefined by them but I don’t really mind when I am.

Violet and all of it’s leanings might be me today, so if you see me, let me know we seem a little bit closer than yesterday.
