Violet

Dyer beware

By Rosemary D HunterPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Violet

I see the hair you dyed for a bet

Your parents decided your room was to let

Mother was cross, you stained the toilet

It hardly took thirty minutes to set.

Now you have new clothes to get

Impress the ones you haven’t met

They haven’t seen the new you yet

Don’t miss the bus, you can’t afford a jet.

Is that bet something you regret?

I heard you are saving up for another pet

I am sure you are popular with the local vet

You’ll rue the day you accepted that bet.

Violet

Why did it have to be Violet?

What was so important about that bet?

Was it worth three hours scrubbing the toilet?

What did your new boss say when you met?

Poor cats now have no one to go to for a pet

There are a lot of bills to collect from the vet

Poor things got trapped in an outside fishing net

They went out because you had no time to clean their toilet.

Now that Violet turned back to Brown

You set the alarm clock and frown

Your hair is always up and never down

Never any time to act the clown.

Dyer beware

The risks you take when you colour your hair.

About the Creator

Rosemary D Hunter

Call me Rose, it's shorter and easier, also you can't offend me, I have been called worse! I love my cats, my child and my husband to be. I like horror, but can't write it and I do comedy mainly when I am anxious, so quite a lot of the time
