Hey Hannah! Can I get you to clarify your story for me? I loved it. But looking through the comments I feel I may have misinterpreted it. Was she snorting the pain pills or did she get injured? The ink pens razor blade and pills make me think she may be an addict who fell off the wagon but got back up again.

Absolutely loved this! Fabulous job, interweaving the physical, emotional, and nutritional needs of a human, with rhymes to boot. Wonderful!

This is really well done. All she needed in the was her notebooks and pens, and herself. Fabulous..

Damn, Hannah. You are incredible with this challenge. The colors changing, red to green, the alliterative stanza (all p's), the shift from wholemeal bread to white, even the expensive choices of food to inexpensive (budget gin), and then, of course, the alcohol and painkillers replacing food nearly altogether...This is a complete frickin' narrative! It's amazing! AND IT RHYMES ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Fantastic, just, wow.

This felt like the beginning of a love story but as the lists progressed, I felt it shift and take a darker tone. Overall, a very thought provoking read! Great work Hannah!

  • I'm at awe at the fact that you told a story with a shopping list and made it rhyme too! You're like so brilliant! Just one question. Why did she need so much of painkillers?

Oh, so very dark at times...nice end to it all. Well done to fit some much in and tell a story so strictly with just a list. Very impressive.

I read this a couple of times because I got the excitement of trying to impress and new attraction quite easily. I could sense things going sour but I reread the last couple of stanzas especially the repetition of paracetamol to think "Oh no!" Like the fresh images of the last one. Nice optimistic note to end. I thought this was great. It's pretty cool to pack so much story in a shopping list.

I think I'm wrapping my head around a failed romance that started on Valentine's Day and a writer returning to her work, but I can't be sure...
