What makes me unique,
Ride this wavelength till the end,
The colour moves right through me,
the mind can’t comprehend.
But how could that be?
I mean we are all just light,
Life is a spectrum but perspective hinders sight.
So caught up in the contrast of what’s wrong and what’s right.
What’s black? What’s white?
What’s up? What down?
Would your views stay the same if you spun yourself around?
If you’re swimming in red,
Treading water,
feeling pain,
Stuck in a space of anger,
feeling like you never gain?
I urge you to release,
to flow with the blue,
To detach from the past,
to make yourself brand new.
Swim through the oceans,
claim your power,
change the tide,
Appreciate the diversity and allow colour into your mind.
Nestle amongst the green,
feel the connection so true,
She will whisper you the answers and you’ll know just what to do.
To release yourself from the darkness,
Divorcing from the night.
Submitting to what is greater than you is when yellow ignites.
And what warmth it feels to be in a space where bliss is the only norm,
As peace builds steady in your heart you’ll no longer conform,
To the black and white barriers to which you’ve been confined,
By the suffocating rules created in your mind.
Pink I gave away,
But he never respected me,
But now I’ve claimed it back and pink is all I see,
Romanticising everything,
I’m so in love with it all,
But I wouldn’t appreciate this life,
If I didn’t ever fall.
Oh purple picks me up,
So mysterious in her ways,
Teaching me the wisdom as I learn to ride the waves.
So what makes me unique,
when we are all quite the same?
Well I became the rainbow in a world full of rain.
