Via Negata
The Path Not Taken

There are roads we inherit—
paved by expectation, tradition, and blood.
And there are roads we forge,
brambled, untrodden, our footprints the first.
This is the third and final piece in Venae Fractae Fati.
A conclusion of lineage. A beginning of choice.
Vows unsworn.
Expectations unmet.
Shoes unfilled.
The road forks.
One path firm—
with prints to follow in blood.
An empty hand out.
The other harsh—
unknown, mine to forge.
Lineage redefined.
Ancestors' curses broken.
Shards beneath my feet.
Sharpening my stride.
Trudging my way.
My prints shallow—
yet purposeful.
No end in sight—
but sure to come.
What was passed down no longer defines the path forward.
What you carry now… is yours to choose.

This was so gorgeous! Your word choice is pristine.
I subscribe for the sake of Poe. Loved this indeed. Congrats
Right up my alley
