Dancing with Shadows

Making mistakes is fun, even if the score’s uneven,

hoping to craft a challenge that can’t be won.

Beaten and bruised, wearing a large smile—

denying every feeling learned through a life that feels unbearable.

Trying to justify loneliness sounds foolish

when eye to eye with a soul that finally sees you.

Agreeing is hard when fighting built you from the ground up,

sustaining life as you know it.

Tears quietly replace smiles for those who can’t tell the difference,

their emotions blackened by countless disappointments.

Lonely souls can’t dance—if you’ve noticed—

but the right beat can align anyone,

guided by hope and faith.
