Valentines Day Eve

Unexpected Love

Crimson hearts and sugared smiles,

A day of love in manufactured miles.

Yet here I stand, beneath the moon's soft glow,

Untethered heart, nowhere to go.

But then, a laugh, a melody astray,

Across the street, a song at the end of day.

I glance, and fate plays its capricious hand,

Eyes meet, a smile, on a rooftop stand.

No grand gesture, no sweeping lines,

Just a shared silence, bathed in city lights.

Words tumble forth, hesitant, then free,

Unwinding stories beneath the moonlit tree.

Suddenly, the day's fanfare seems so hollow,

Real connection, where expectations follow.

Laughter echoes, chases shadows dim,

Love's unexpected bloom, on Valentine's eve's whim.

No cards exchanged, no chocolates given,

Just two souls, beneath the starry heaven.

A chance encounter, a bond unplanned,

Love's melody, found in a rooftop band.

So let the hearts of cardboard fade away,

For love's true essence found its spark today.

On Valentine's eve, with moonlit grace,

A love unexpected, found its destined space.
