Valarauko Pt 1
Fly, you fools!
In the core of the mountain,
Dwarven halls ring silent dread.
Upon The ancient Bridge of Khazad-dum,
Where the Fellowship dares to tread.
A creature cloaked in shadow and flame,
Approaching the fissure came.
Smoke and fire writhe and bind her,
Kindling her streaming mane.
Gandalf stands with gnarled staff,
Defiant and proud, tall and strong.
The Balrog roars for all to hear,
Her voice a savage and rapacious sound.
Against the night, alone to face
Nobody else to take my place.
My will to fight brings the light
And banish darkness evermore!
Plunging ‘cross the chasm,
Alarming in both speed and might.
Gandalf stands unmoving,
Commanding the power of light.
The Balrog's whip hisses and cracks,
Her sword glowing with hellish flame.
Shadows dance upon Glamdring’s blade,
Shining orange with legendary name.
Against the night, alone to face,
With vengeance burning ever higher.
My will to fight brings the light
I banish darkness with my desire!
As they clash upon the stone,
The bridge crumbles and begins to groan.
Gandalf knows what he must do to hold,
To send that Balrog home.
"You cannot pass!" he bellows loud,
then strikes the bridge a mighty blow.
The Balrog falls into abyss,
And takes Gandalf with her down below.
Fly, you fools, but do not falter,
For there's still a quest to pursue.
Gandalf's sacrifice will guide us,
As we strive to see it through.
