Untold- A Violent Tragedy Poem

His heart pumped ice

And eyes turned stone cold.

He was going to take a life

He was feeling all too bold.

His skin was flushed with fury

Hatred began to build.

Knowing but not caring

His anger would get him killed.

Feet moving faster

A gun in his hand.

Point and pull the trigger

Hate his only plan.

Bullets flew through the air

Then into the man’s chest.

Another shot rang out, though not from his gun

He felt the bullet hit; he would now be laid to rest.

His parents stood in the graveyard

His grave being filled.

The preacher said, “I’m sorry for your loss.”

His mother only replied, “Anger got him killed.”

His wife sat at home

Her stomach had gotten wider.

She’d never get to tell him

Of the life that grew inside her.

His mother knew she should have told him

Of the affair with the man while away from home.

See; she lost two sons that night

If only they had known.
