Until We Meet Again

Separated for now.

There is no time and space.

And I’d rip a hole through the universe trying

Anything for one more time seeing your face

When I was near you, my heart felt like flying

An angel’s voice carried on the wings of a dove

Trying to hear it now is all for naught

Why are you gone so fast after being sent from above

Things without you changed, and life began to rot

Combing the world and searching for a way

Trying desperately to find how to fill the void

Closed eyes take me back to the joy of yesterday

The times before our lives met the fates, and with them, they toyed

Nothing is fair about this separate journey through the cold of night

Chasing after heaven once lost

For answers and you nothing that I wouldn’t fight

Would cross any lines or crush any obstacle no matter the cost

A place where we could meet

A place between the two worlds where things collide

For a moment in your arms, I would not be beat

For in this place, I would not have to hide

The glimmer between us does not matter

Your smile as my heart melts because you’re there

Hearing your voice begins to make me sadder

Excuses for your absence sound unfair

Hands reach out and feel your energy as we touch

A gentle kiss, and I know what you’re going to say

There are things to do, and for you, you have much

We’ll be together soon, but our time is not today

We're separated, but it's only temporary

It's not only in my imagination

Those who disagree will see quite the contrary

This will be our last separation

Until we meet again

Reading it backwards gives the same sense of motion and transfer. Sad and yearning
