If I felt your kiss,
would it feel true?
If I heard a heartbeat,
would it be from you?
This pain I feel is like the ocean;
It crashes with force to my heart,
Yet it calms when it moves away,
Like the echoes of my beating heart.
I gave you space to breathe and see,
Hoping you'd find your way back to me.
Through the fog and the still of night,
Where we once said goodnight, now it’s goodbye.
Hear me, love me from where you are,
Fuel me, caress my body,
touch me in all the right spots,
But just don't let us drift too far apart.
For in this fire, I feel alive,
Let us burn together like a star in the night,
For if you put out the flame,
I'll fade, I'll fade,
I'll fade and die of a broken heart.
