Unrequited Love

Unrequited Love

Bluntly she loved him

She was his Great Gatsby

Unmistakably his fool

Wanted to be his jewel

Cruel skies turned black

He does not love her back

Unreciprocated feelings

No time for healing

Kneeling inside this hurricane

Her eyes bubble over like champagne

Cupid had poor aim with his arrow

She’s a lovesick sparrow

La douleur exquise plays on the piano

Love she can’t have is exquisitely painful

Feelings unsustainable

Love unattainable

Prays she’s unforgettable

She’s a beautiful disaster

No happily ever after

Unless there are more chapters

sad poetry
