Unless...

A poem for a change in heart

By Benjamin Alexander HousePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Unless there’s change within nothing changes in the out.

We often cling to what’s familiar, even if it’s bad, fearful, or full of doubt.

Everyone shouts revolt, tear down this thing that’s killing us!

Away with these things, no longer fulfilling trust!

We’re all in chains in a device of our own making.

Sometimes caught in a loop, living a life of faking.

But there’s hope in the however and unless.

If you own up to the truth you long to confess.

Revolutions end in the same place started.

Unless we do things different, we’ll always be brokenhearted.
