Days turn into nights, then into days again

Intercepting my sense of time, my

Sense of gravity -

Taking the end of the string, I float - like a kite -

Reaching from one cloud to the next

Always wishing, always hoping for a

Collision with the sun,

To burst me into flame -

In the eyes of

Orion,

New seasons appear.

This is the inspiration for this poem - it is the song dedicated from my husband to me when we first met:

Video of Music & Lyrics to Nickel Creek song "When You Come Back Down" from Youtube.

I love this piece. "Taking the end of the string, I float - like a kite - / Reaching from one cloud to the next / Always wishing, always hoping for a / Collision with the sun, / To burst me into flame - / In the eyes of / Orion," were especially beautiful lines.
