Look around you,
Colors.
See all of the different shades and hues, the gradients and tints.
Such distinct vibrant, and defintely vivid colors combinations exist.
The luminous sun, shining with purpose and pride,
Migrating through the softest baby blues, or cotton candy clouds that create the sky.
Clashing, but existing together, harmoniously.
Now look again, but this time within.
You've never seen me, but we're more than likely two different skins.... no?
You see, we almost always see each other,
But don't always hear our stories.
It's profound to think that something so unique, so full of color,
Could somehow make others worry.
For all purposes and intents,
I think we have it sorta backwards when we look at the colors of our skin.
We're all different, but the same.
Different issues, same pain. Same clouds, no rain.
Granted, there are somethings that aren't so similar.
Because we all know certain issues aren't always so familiar.
This might not be the only flaw in the system,
Even if it's a long climb, and a far cry, we must continue to try,
We've already pressed start.
Hopefully then we can see, our colors come from the heart, who we are within.
Not only the colors and marks on our skin.
Each of us is unique, sometimes small difference.
In that sense, are we not all the same parts, but built different.
Each one of us, living a life,
uniquely yours, but vicariously ours.
I hope you see the true colors.
